A casino currency specialist is exploring opportunities in the burgeoning United Arab Emirates (UAE) gaming market, including potential licensing as a technology supplier.
The company is particularly interested in offering its live gaming products as the UAE market develops.
The firm anticipates that operators in the UAE may favor oblong-shaped casino currency plaques, a format already popular in European casinos.
The Wynn Al Marjan Island project in Ras Al Kaimah marks the first confirmed casino development in the UAE.
Several gaming technology suppliers have already secured licenses in the UAE under the nation’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority.
There’s a growing trend among gaming operators to choose casino-currency plaques manufactured using techniques traditionally associated with casino chips.
This trend is evident in both European and Asian markets.
“Many more operators are opting for the plaque that’s made like a chip rather than the traditional plaque.”
These new-generation plaques are produced using injection molding, allowing for precise mirroring of chip colors. This level of color matching is not achievable with traditional acrylic plaques.
Furthermore, high denominations, traditionally represented by oblong plaques, can now be represented by round ‘plaques’.
The company has developed new molds for oval and rectangular plaques in response to customer demand.
The company’s manufacturing has been based in South Korea for three decades.
South Korea possesses cutting-edge technology for injection and molding techniques, essential for producing high-specification products.
Demand for chip manufacturing techniques in plaque production has significantly increased in recent years.
